EFEKTIVITAS PENDIDIKAN KESEHATAN PURSED LIPS BREATHING TERHADAP PENINGKATAN KUALITAS PERNAPASAN PADA PASIEN ASMA

Asma merupakan gangguan pernapasan kronik yang mempengaruhi kualitas hidup akibat penyempitan jalan napas dan sesak napas. Salah satu intervensi nonfarmakologis yang dapat meningkatkan efisiensi pernapasan adalah teknik Pursed Lips Breathing (PLB). Tujuan penelitian ini menganalisis efektivitas edukasi PLB terhadap peningkatan kualitas pernapasan pada pasien asma. Penelitian menggunakan desain quasi eksperimen dengan rancangan pre-test dan post-test tanpa kelompok kontrol pada 40 pasien asma. Edukasi dan pelatihan PLB diberikan selama 2 minggu. Parameter yang diukur adalah laju napas dan Peak Expiratory Flow Rate (PEFR). Hasil penelitian ini terdapat penurunan signifikan pada laju napas (p<0,05) dan peningkatan PEFR setelah intervensi. Edukasi PLB efektif dalam meningkatkan kualitas pernapasan pasien asma dan dapat diterapkan dalam perawatan klinik maupun rumah.
